The learning curve was steep and personal development was a critical component in my success.

Once I knew how I could generate my own leads via the internet, I knew I would be able to build a business.

When I learned about attraction marketing and explored social marketing, this is when the penny finally dropped. I understood how I could use the internet to have high quality leads coming into my business every single day.

I saw that if I had leads coming into my business every single day, especially of people who were pre-qualified, interested and serious, it would only be a matter of time before I built the numbers I was previously lacking in my old-school MLM approaches.

And my success was still far from quick. I spent months online trying to figure everything out. I was completely overwhelmed and confused, stressed out and in despair most of the time. I spent a whole bunch of dosh buying all manner of tools, ebooks and services.

Personal development was a major component, improving my knowledge and my skills, and finally honed in on a simple set of strategies that are still the pillars of my business.

I now teach these exact same strategies to my new team members in just a few weeks. It takes some people no time at all to implement and start generating their own leads, even on a small marketing budget.

For others, it can take a while longer depending on what skills you already have to draw on and what you need to develop and master.
But it is worth the patience and persistence. Believe me. The feeling you get when you generate a bunch of leads and start following up with real people is just terrific.

Thank goodness I kept a success journal and took good notes at all those events I attended!

2. Any business is really a people business.

And where do people hang out in their free ‘social' time ... the internet, either at home or via their mobile device. So it's easy to understand why developing your people skills is crucial to your success. Learning how people make buying decisions, how to attract people to you rather than selling them on your business opportunity, these are important things to master.

3. My business concept completed changed.
I moved from my previous MLM to a much more profitable business model so I could get a far bigger return on my investment of time and money.
